I live in the MS Delta. Pretty much the poorest area of the country. My family farms, and due to modern mechanization, what was once an area with TONS of low skill jobs, has now become an area with almost no low skill jobs. This has led to generational/cyclical poverty that only reinforces itself as time passes. But the people are great for the most part. We farm all row crops (corn, soybean, cotton are the main ones...sometimes wheat, grain sorghum, peanuts).
