2018-2019 NHL Thread – Thunderstorm Warning

St. Louis goaltending has been a hot mess lately.

And tonight, Jake Allen has been pulled twice in two periods.

Unfortunately, the Canes current slide has cut their playoff expectancy in half; however, they're still in it with a bevy of teams competing for the second Wild Card spot. Really, most of the Eastern Conference is still in it, which can't be said for the West.

Hard to really blame them for the slide, it coming in 4 games against the top 3 teams in hockey. Pretty ridiculous. Hope it doesn't go to their heads, though. Keep beating the teams you can beat and they'll be fine.
 
Doesn't help that PIT and WSH in particular are absurdly hot at the mo.

Just played the Metro top 4 four straight games, while the rest of the way we only play them 5 more times. Not sad about that fact.

Hopefully can beat the Kings and stop the slide before the break.

But yeah, everyone in the East is alive. Second half gonna be a free-for-all

Including the...Islanders. Two weeks ago they were at 3.7% chance to make the playoffs, but have gone 5-0-1 since. At the moment, they're projected to snag the 8th seed according to Sports Club Stats. They're five points back of Philadelphia, but have three games in hand.

Maybe they should've fired Capuano sooner?

As of earlier this month, a financial projection shared with potential investors showed the Islanders won’t contribute any revenue after the 2018-19 season -- a clear signal that the team won’t play there, the people said.

Absolutely had to have that one. No way we make the playoffs if we don't catch Philly and 9 back would've been a nightmare
