Keep this in mind:
The Big 10 is awful this year.
There is no doubt that MD is materially better than State, but MD's toughest game this year was OK State (KP #20), and MD has played no other team rated in KP's top 25 (WF will play its 7th game against a top 25 team on Saturday). MD has played one ACC team, ACC Cellar Dwellar Pitt at MD, and the Terps got worked 73-59. Even with MD's gaudy 24-4 record they are currently #32 essentially even with WF (#34), Clemson (#35) and Miami (#36). So, despite contending for a Big Ten title, MD would be a mediocre ACC team. MD has built their record by narrowly beating middling teams (beat Richmond in OT, beat G'town by one, beat Towson by 5), and MD's has losses significantly worse than any of WF's (Nebraska at home, Penn State and Pitt home). So, congrats to MD for their nice record against the #197th best OOC schedule and a down Big 10.
