I've never been but the reports I've gotten is it's way more expensive than it's worth.

in Blowing Rock - Foggy Rock Eatery and Pub and Bistro Roca. Lot's of new places in Boone and Blowing Rock - check Urban Spoon for ratings. Going to be there also this weekend.

-Woodlands BBQ in Blowing Rock is a must do, IMO. Their BBQ and Wings is unbelievable. Live local music every evening as well.
-Peppers in Boone is pretty solid
-Daniel Boone Inn for breakfast
-Avoid every chain with Mellow Mushroom being the only exception. Great food as always and best beer selection in the High Country

Make sure you sit upstairs at Woodlands for the music.
