Official 2015 NBA Offseason Thread: Rose broke face, orgy to blame?

Rondo sucks

Rondo more than sucks. He's a grenade.

As for my boy Morrow, he went from sucking to these 2014-2015 numbers:

PPG: 10.7
FGM/game: 4
FG%: 46%

3PM/game: 2
3P%: 43%

FT%: 88%

So, he might still "suck," but I like those numbers for a BACKUP shooting guard.

some nerd needs to do an analysis on optimal shot distribution when playing streetball.

a 3 is worth twice as much as a 2, so that would in theory shift the optimal mix to more 3s. but make it take it does the opposite as you get an extra benefit from scoring.

looks like someone who is 33% from 3 and 50% from 2 would have an EV of 1 point shooting 3s versus about .87 shooting only 2s.

Lots of good stuff in here, but the "Kendrick Perkins looks like a pharaoh" line was the best

Lots of #spurshubris in that article. I wish I was as confident about the pitch.

Gasol hosting Grizz front office in Spain tomorrow. Taking no meetings with other teams. As expected.

don't think it's the pitch that is the problem. question is more "what are his priorities?" less money, smaller market and what will team make up will be over the next 2 years vs good organization, kawaii leonard and pop (for now).

i am not confident either. the spurs could conceivably look a lot like they did this year for 15-16.

There are several good organizations with good young players and cap space, though. That's where the #spurshubris comes in.

The Spurs have multiple championships those organizations don't have.

never said there weren't. did not say there was not some hubris in the article. the article clearly lays out that the spurs appear to be going all out.

aldridge has plenty of good options. just laying out a few thoughts on the specific spurs situation and commenting on what some of his thought process regarding what the spurs as a destination might be.

at the end of the day i think it will come to how much money is he willing to give up (5th year with blazers) to play with which group of players. waters are muddy for the spurs right now.

He's already leaving POR. Question is whether he wants the LA lifestyle or the Ships in SA

Who is the biggest free agent in the Pop era that has signed with the Spurs (excluding their own FA's)? I can't even think of one. Other than Jason Kidd, I can't remember them ever being in the hunt for a max free agent.
