2015 Football Coaching Carousel: Southern Miss HC to Tampa Bay

The reality is that with the departure of Spurrier the Cocks are left facing a gigantic hole and they're gonna have to go big if they expect to fill it. Personally, I'd like to see them get someone who grew up a lifelong fan of the Cocks, someone who hasn't been afraid to hit their knees and worship the Cocks.

The university and state could be doing so much more good with that money than buying out Miles and spending $5 million on a football coach who in all likelihood not be any better than Miles.

The money is being put up by their crazy boosters for that specific purpose. If the LSU chose not to fire Les, then the money would simply not be donated. Worrying about what better purposes those people could choose to put their money toward is pretty pointless. Might as well ask them to donate their money to cancer research or to feed starving children instead of building a McMansion or buying a sports car.

Then what they should do is to tell the crazy boosters that they will take the money and use it to buy out Miles' contract, but only if they donate an equal amount to cancer research or feeding starving children. ;)

LSU would never do this if they didn't really think they had Jimbo in the bag. He has said Baton Rouge has a special place in his heart so anything is possible. If I were FSU, I'd be concerned.
