College Bball Thread

Maybe he just needed to collapse on the floor during a game feigning severe back pain, take a medical LOA for the rest of the year, and stick his longstanding loyal assistant with an undertalented team well on its way to a losing record. Oh wait - that's already been done ...................

What kind of person would do such a thing especially after losing a national championship game?

Absolutely true. Bo did not do this.

Of course not... he instead gave an interview bitching that the refs let the game get way too physical causing his team to blow a 9 pt 2nd half lead. Funny when a B1G coach is complaining that Duke is too physical.

Seriously, a supposed Wake fan bitching about another team complaining that Duke gets all the calls? Crawl back in your hole.

The dude's just depressed that his best team ever let him down. Can't get over it.

Sorry to offend you... just have never been a B.R. fan, but of course wanted him to win that game last April. He at least was able to take down the other "devil" & prevent an undefeated season. Is it your wish that Alvarez gives Gard the reigns for years to come? It would be a shame to groom him for so long & then hand him the keys to one of your weakest teams for that to end up being the reason he doesn't get to keep the job.

If he hadn't handed him the keys this way, there was a good chance Gard never would have gotten an opportunity, period. Unless there's a chance for Tony Bennett or maybe Archie Miller, both of which iare unlikely, I would give Gard a couple of years.

Exactly right. As previously stated He wanted to retire this Summer (like Dean did to ensure Gut succeeded him), but this Summer, Gard had to deal with his father's condition. Apparently. Gard's father has improved, and he will now get his hot to show what he can do. Unless Gard works a miracle with that team, guessing that Alvarez will seek to hire established head coach. His first choice is going to be Tony Bennett as Bennett is from Wisconsin, and his dad took Wisky to the final 4 in the 1990s. Worse case scenario for Bennett is that he will get another raise from UVA based upon Wisky's flirtation. Ben Jacobsen at Northern Iowa, Bryce Drew at Valpo will also be on the short list.

Agreed, except pretty sure Gard's father died in October.

They may not be looking in the same directions, but I wouldn't be surprised if another B1G team that wears red is also hiring a coach this Spring.

Turned on the Duke game just in time to see some white guy (Kennard?) go to the line 3 times in three straight possessions. Par for the course.

I just turned it on about three minutes ago and have watched three ridiculous calls go Duke's way. Holy cow, this is awful.

But again, par for the course.

Duke in real trouble. Even 8 on 5, they are trailing with 30 seconds to go.
