Wake Baseball

Lost 3-2. Looks like it will be another woulda shoulda coulda year.
 
Wake should win a Sunday game where they only give up 3 runs. I could potentially see McCarren replacing Loepprich who has struggled. Not sure what the deal is with Nate Mondou. All those preseason accolades and he has been scuffling all year. Can't really say a slow start because we are 26 games in. If Wake is going to have any chance to make some noise, Mondou has to start hitting and Craig has to stay healthy. Elon will be tough on Tuesday. Go Deacs
 
Deacs win 4-2 after falling down 2-0 @Elon.

Craig his a solo shot in the 7th.

Elon isn't good, but a win is a win.

@ND this weekend, who is probably bottom 3 in the ACC. Have to get at least 2 wins, and really need 3.
 
Lots of good work from the pen tonight. Still waiting for the bats to really heat up. Dunshee needs to get things started with a strong effort on Friday. Other than his one bad outing at USC, he has been very solid. Go Deacs!
 
WF is currently #68 in baseball RPI. ND is #94.

At 4-5 in the ACC, the Deacs need to stock up on the ACC wins. After ND, WF has 3 tough ACC series: @ #35 NC State, #5 FSU, and #4 UNC.

Any insight on how to get tickets for Wake v App in Charlotte. Can always go through third parties, but didn't know if there was a direct route. Thanks

Gotta get a series win this weekend - off to a good start, hopefully Dunshee can go a ways.
 
Rain delay with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd. Deacs up 5-4, bottom of 9th
 
Does every athlete at Wake know every fan is just waiting for them to fuck up?
 
More troubling than the error is that with 2 outs and a runner on third, Walter calls for an intentional walk to put the winning run on first. You have to assume they would try to steal since the catcher has to prevent the runner from third from scoring in a rundown. Just as troubling is how the Deacs hit with runners in scoring position. Terrible. This one will sting.
 
Somebody needs to tell Walter not to intentionally walk the potential winning run with the tying run on third with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth. While you're at it, tell him if he does, don't give the potential winning run an uncontested steal of 2nd base to get into scoring position. What unbelievable baseball strategy!

To be fair, men's golf hasn't made it to the NCAA's in a while it seems. So I doubt we will choke in the NCAA tournament
