Gettleman won NFL executive of the year.

Slightly related Panthers just signed a journeyman safety I've never heard of before to a one year deal. #gettlemagic

not surprising but looks like the panthers are picking up star's 5th year option

Trenton Robinson. Started 7 of 9 games for the Skins until getting injured. He had 52 tackles and a pick. Sounds like he had a career-best season going before this injury. By comparison, Roman Harper had 73 tackles all last season.

Definitely looks like #gettlemagic.

He was on PFF's worst team of the season at the midway point:

Safeties: Dashon Goldson, Redskins, 37.1, and Trenton Robinson, Redskins, 36.3

Once again, Redskins’ teammates make this team at the same position, and it’s no less depressing/scary than before. Goldson is here thanks to equal struggles in coverage and run defense. Coverage-wise, Goldson grades out at 43.4, which is 82nd among 85 safeties in the NFL. He’s missed 12 tackles, including eight against the run, compared to 13 run stops. No safety in football has a lower run defense grade than Goldson’s 29.7

Robinson is just the tiniest bit better than Goldson. His coverage grade of 43.9 ranks 81st out of 85 safeties, and his run defense grade of 33.1 is the second worst. He’s missed two less tackles (so he still 10 missed tackles), but he’s only made eight run stops. So, there is one thing that Goldson beats him at. Still, not good; especially for the Redskins, whose entire midfield made this team.

Honorable Mention: Jahleel Addae (48.3), Calvin Pryor (46.2)

Gettlemeh then?

Seriously GMan is just trying to fill the roster before the draft. I imagine a draft pick will compete for that spot.

to be fair, it looks like PFF just rankings just destroyed everybody on the skins defense

Players laugh at PFF scornfully fwiw "accurate grades when they don't even know the play lol"

I don't wanna go all 2&2 but it's little more than football hipster porn. I wouldn't get too worked up about it

PFF says Luke is the best LB in the league - "PFF knows its shit"

PFF underrates a FA backup S = "PFF doesn't even know the right play calls"

actually it went

PFF says guy sucks = PH and Bmoney who value it are concerned

Pff says guy sucks = guy who never cared about PFF isn't concerned by its evaluation

I don't think it's infallible but if they think someone is one of the worst in the league I doubt they are good, at least in that system. I trust Gman to pick undervalued guys who he thinks will fit our system better than their current system.

I feel like Gettleman does a really good job of at least filling the gaps in FA so that he can take BPA in the draft. It also means we're not reliant on rookies to step up and be major contributors.

Right. This guy is Tre's backup and will compete with a draft pick for a roster spot.
