I'm not saying they're fake, and I don't know this guy at all, but I've never seen "testimonials" without attribution anywhere in my life.

Any plans on doing a story or asking some question to the admin? Seems like they need to feel the pressure on this.

I'm sure Wellman would like to keep him until his contract runs out but may be forced to fire him if enough heat is applied.

I would hope a volleyball coach wouldn't have a prohibitive buyout.

This is the front page feature article on the physical OG&Bs all over campus.

Embarrassing if false; REALLY embarrassing and beyond reprehensible if true.

I'd guess the base annual salary for the women's volleyball coach at Wake is almost certainly less than $100,000. Presumably he's on a contract, but it surely wouldn't have exceeded 5 years, which means he has 2 seasons to go.

Well, at least this explains why Wellman chose someone as fiery, animated, and explosive on the sidelines as Danny Manning.

If there's any evidence for all of this, one would hope we can fire with cause and not pay a buyout. If not, then that would seem to be a pretty crappy contract.

What's a volleyball coach's buyout clause at a small private school running these days? $43 and free breakfasts at the Pit? That can't be a six figure salary job, can it?

You'd have to look at the contract, but in general being a dick is probably not "cause" to terminate under a contract unless he's doing things so egregious so as to violate university policy or regulations or codes of conduct. He was cleared in the Title IX investigation and no NCAA infractions mentioned. So, you could still fire of course, but it may be considered without cause which means the coach would likely be entitled to some pay. Again though, a relatively modest salary and not a long time left, so the AD could evaluate and decide it's worth it to can him.

Firing him would force Wellman to admit he made a mistake. We know that's not going to happen easily.
