Transfer Williams NOT coming to Wake?

LOL

Our program is a fucking joke right now. We are hot garbage.

But it didn't look like he was going to start for us. He could have even been beaten out for being the first wing off the bench.

Then why would the coaches try to bring him on for one year in the first place?

Is there just no grand vision in mind? None of this crap makes any sense. It's a complete joke and a prime example why you don't hand over a dumpster fire to a rookie coach surrounded by rookie assistants.

I'm not sure what doesn't make sense. Our small forward position seriously underperformed this year. The plan to address that was to bring in Austin Arians and Matt Williams as grad transfers as a stop gap and then bring in better talent in the 2017 class. The staff was well on its way to doing that with Melo Eggleston's commitment and the recruits we're still pursuing in that class. Unfortunately, some of the other guards at UCF decided to transfer as well. So Dawkins was able to convince Williams that he would have loads of playing time and a guaranteed starting position if he stayed at UCF.

It sucks for our staff that he reneged on his commitment but everything was handled properly on their end.

Not this. You're a miserable fan.

Being realistic sucks.

2010-11: 8-24
2011-12: 13-18
2012-13: 13-18
2013-14: 17-16
2014-15: 13-19
2015-16: 11-20

2008-2016: 75-115. A 39% winning mark. One winning season over the last 6 seasons...by 1 game.

Hot.
Garbage.

Go rah rah all you want, but our basketball program is a fucking joke whether you like it or not, Super Fan #1.

Just hard to say that a done & one makes that much difference really. It is not like many if any are going to make all-ACC or they wouldn't be leaving their programs in the first place. Let's go with what we have now and let the young'ens play.

Thanks for copying and pasting bad memories from the past 6 years...Its unhealthy to worry about the past and not look forward to the fun years that could be in front of us. Give Danny some time to build a program.

RJ comes back and suddenly the Sunshine Brigade catches a new wind. We didn't want him anyway...

You can ignore actual results and assume he "wasn't good enough" because DM has such a dynamo of talent coming in, or you can look at it realistically and realize that our program is so low and our staff's experience is so questionable that we couldn't hold onto a transfer who was handed the opportunity to earn a WFU degree and the chance to play in the ACC vs staying at UCF.

In one year it's unlikely he was leaving Wake with a degree... And it's not like he went somewhere else. Things fell into place and he decided to stay put. Would have been a nice addition but ultimately Doubt it really matters much either way for us in terms of W and L

I'd argue it is unhealthy to expect different results from the same inputs as the past, but to each their own I suppose.
