Just heard we lost Matt Williams.

What's the deal?

so is he still transferring but just not to wake? or decided not to transfer at all?

Who really cares? He was the fourth option at UCF. He shot under 33% on high volume shooting.

It looks like he realized he wouldn't start at Wake and would rather stay at UCF.

If Danny is right about Wash or Donovan, we won't miss him at all.

I'd be upset if my donations were going to fund a scholarship for a walk-on for two years.

Better that than waste a scholarship on a 2016 freshman recruit at this stage. We have some good options for that 2017 class and need to preserve as many scholarships for them as we can. While Williams isn't a huge loss, he really screwed us over on the spring transfer market.

He tweeted Giles and will shortly put out that UCF was his favorite all along but Kansas was his second choice. He enjoyed the free meals at Wake though on his visit.

Yeah. Just means we'll need more from Wilbekin and Childress/Washington.

The coaching staff wanted him for a reason. But you must know more than them...

Bummer... But it does open up more minutes for Woods, Childress, and Wilbekin.

I was looking forward to having Williams to shoot 3s along with Arians and Woods, though. Should still be a much better perimeter shooting team, even without him.

Wonder if we try to fill the slot with another grad transfer.

The one steak?

Gotta imagine the staff will try but they're two weeks behind.
