Official UEFA Euro 2016 Thread

Belgium should do some damage, could also see Croatia surprising everyone as well...

Bought an official preview magazine here in Austria (put out by one of the big daily newspapers). It's AMAZING. Will have to scan some of the best parts and post them here.

Title of the preview magazine is "Our Heroes". It's amazing. (click for fullsize image)

And of course Marko Arnautovic (every player on the team is nicknamed in this preview magazine - Arnautovic is "Der König" / "the King" - Wimmer is "the Patient", Fuchs is "the Captain", etc) has a throne in his house. He's rapidly becoming one of my favorite players in any sport.

Albania-Swiss will be juicy with all those Swiss X-men

Raphael Varane has been ruled out with a thigh injury and France has named Adil Rami as his replacement. Tough blow for France (already without Sakho) and Varane.

Speaking of centerbacks, it sounds like Wilmots, even with Kompany out, is going to stay with Vertonghen and Alderweireld as his left and right back, and bring in Denayer to partner Lombaerts. Seems a little crazy to me.

I don't think Belgium has any better options than Vertonghen and Alderweireld at LB/RB. It's crazy but probably true.

So the far right anti-Islam German "nationalist" party PEGIDA had a chairperson take issue with the new Kinder packaging, which features non-white children. (The original post reads: "Is there nothing they won't stop with? Can you really buy these? Is this a joke?"). A bunch of comments from other PEGIDA members go much, much worse.

The packaging is a promotion for the EUROS featuring pictures of national team players when they were children. In this case Ilkay Gündogan and Jerome Boateng.

definitely true

loads of good CBs and not a decent outside back to be found.

Let's talk meaningless May baseball for 5.5 hours instead!

Rashford getting his chance to impress. Starting for England in their friendly against Australia.
