The U.S. Open, America's Championship.

FORMAT: Listed below are most of the golfers participating in the The U.S. Open. You need to pick 6 of them with a total value of 400 or more. Pick carefully - your team will end up "missing the cut" if more than two of your golfers miss the cut in the event! To make your selections, send me a PM with the golfers' names and point values.

SCORING: Your score will be the aggregate of your best four golfers. Since you have to have at least four scores counting, if more than two of your golfers miss the cut, so does your team. There are also "bonus points" at the end of the tournament. If you've got the champion golfer on your team, it's -5. The runner-up gets you -3, and having the third-place golfer gets you -1 off your score.

DEADLINE: All entries must be sent to me by 6:45 AM Thursday, June 16th.

LIVE SCORING: Live Scoring will not be available for the U.S. Open since I will be in Vegas from Thursday through Sunday. I will post results on Monday.

In at 405. Thanks for running Sleepy!

The one guy I wish I could have taken at 125 was Emiliano Grillo. At 150, he would have been a perfect fit. That's life.

team cville

150 Finau
125 RCB
80 Casey
35 Kuchar
12 DJ
7 Day

I like the chance of the streak of 1st time major winners winning at Oakmont. Kuchar and DJ are in good form and top that list.

DJ has the game to win, but right now I don't think he has the brains to win. He probably blew a good chance to win The Open Championship last year by trying to finish a hole in 40+ MPH wind when the other leaders refused to play on. He was leading and just off the green of a par 5 in two...and made bogey. And that was after he lost the US Open by 3-putting the last hole from 12 feet. (He also lost a chance to win the PGA a few years back with a penalty for grounding his club in a bunker on the last hole.)

We will know more by Sunday night, but I like the strategy of taking the chalk plus three other guys. Paul Casey is the #4 guy on my team.

Day and Kuchar have been playing the best lately, with DJ slightly behind them

Reed and Grace have the type of game to come from the mid tier

All depends on how much rain is out there. Plenty of birdies already

The online coverage at usopen.com is top notch BTW. They have Rory and Jordan's groups this morning in top quality.

We only have two different guys. You have Cabrera & Knox. I have English & Casey.

I was between Westwood, Casey & Horschel for my 4th guy. Hated not to take Westwood, because he is about my favorite player. He's been money at the Masters for the last 9 years, making the cut every year and with finishes of 3, 2, 11, 3, 8, 7, 2...but I decided that Casey was a better pick for this course. I would still love to see Westwood win the tournament, though.
