Presumably OFFICIAL 2016/17 Premier League

Every team that wins the PL has to rely on luck to some degree. Just because they don't play with the grace or power or overall skill doesn't mean it was a fluke. Getting outshot is often a misleading stat IMO. They made the most of the shots they took and in a lot of cases forced opponents into bad shots that still count as shots. And Casper had a great season.

And besides, watching it all happen last season was fun as fuck. No one hates Leicester.

Except we have a ton more information now that gives us the exact location of players, power of shots, etc. Leicester didn't force bad shots or create good shots in any extraordinary manner. They just got very, very outlier results given the base conditions. Yes, that stuff happens - but it's also OK to be honest about it and go "you know, Leicester got a ton of flukey good luck" instead of making us pretend donkeys like Wes Morgan are actually superstar players.

Oh, I do. Having to watch them play like a fucking pedestrian team and still get results every week last year was misery. Losing the title to them if they had played brilliantly wouldn't have hurt. Losing to them playing like a 7th place team was brutal. And then nobody was willing to call it while it was happening either, which just twisted the knife more.

This opening match in their own stadium getting clowned by a hilariously bad Hull team is warming my dark soul like nothing other than a Chelsea humiliation would.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The defending champions just lost at home to a team that has 12 senior players on the books. God I'm going to love watching them turn back into pumpkins this year.

Hull do have a decent XI. Lack of depth doesn't hurt on opening weekend; it will certainly affect them down the line.

Sure, but your whinging on about Lester's style last season is SAD!

My good friend who grew up on the blue side of the Mersey is coming over any minute with his 2.5 year old son to watch the match. Going to have to resist the urge to taunt a 2.5 year old (his father wouldn't, that's for sure - you can take the man out of Liverpool and educate him at Cambridge, but he's still from Liverpool).

If Leicester looks this bad all season then Vad's dark soul will be very happy indeed.

Woof. That was hard to watch. Mahrez was shit. No fluidity between the midfield and the attack (or anywhere else).

Cameron Carter Vickers on bench. No Yedlin. Wish they'd just sell him.

CCV should see quite a bit of playing time this year, and Yedlin will likely feature in the cups or if Walker gets injured. He played a lot in pre-season both as a right back and as a left back too.

He needs consistent games, not an occasional one vs Wimbledon in a cup. As painful as Sunderland are to watch, he progressed there last year (obviously with Big Sam gone, the situation changes) and playing every day helped him immensely.
