Official 2016-2017 Charlotte Hornets Thread - Sizzlin' Summer Bacon

Yeah that made zero sense. Belli chucking and Sessions blowing layups is not how we're going to win.

But the refs fucked us in the ass in that game. Close late, force Cleveland into a low shot clock, they pass it into the post with 2 on the shot clock. Hornets deflect it back out towards halfcourt, but the jackass clock operator resets the shot clock so the refs blow the whistle. Somehow they give Cleveland the ball out of bounds with 1.6 on the clock, when clearly had the clock been running it would have run out before a shot was taken. Cleveland then manages to inbound the ball over everyone's head and out of bounds, but a bogus call on Marvin under the basket gives Cleveland the ball with a new 12 on the shot clock. The NBA's biggest pussy, Channing Frye, hits a 3 and that's all she wrote.

Another great comeback win last night. Kaminsky had probably his best game as a pro, dominating both inside and out and playing tough D on KAT. Zeller, Hibbert, and Kemba also played well, and Belli hit some big shots. Marvin, however, is really struggling. Hopefully last year was not a fluke and he gets back into form, as his shooting is really off.

Scary moment when Kemba went down and had to go into the locker room for treatment, and Sessions was forced to run the team for an extended period of time. It is inexplicable how this guy is in the NBA. He is so fucking horrible, it seems like every time he touches the ball something bad happens. He can't hit a shot from anywhere, he makes awful decisions, and he turns the ball over. Hopefully when trades and salary dumps occur close to the deadline someone will pop free who they can sign for the stretch run.

We got fucked by the zebras in Cleveland? Say it aint so.

Marvin can disappear and has done so many times in his career.

I think it was a few years ago that he didn't take a free throw until December.

He hasn't disappeared, he is still there chucking away. He just isn't hitting them. And he has hit some important shots this year so I don't want to discredit him too much, but he just isn't hitting them at the same percentage. Last year he shot 50.4% from two and 40.2% from three (45.2% overall), and this year he has dropped to 32.6% and 34.8%, respectively (33.9% overall).

One of the cool things about the hornets good start to the season is none of it seems unsustainable. Kemba is playing at an All Star level but he was already close and has improved every season, Batum hasn't been great, Marv has a lot to improve on. It's not like we're getting outrageous production from the supporting cast that you think will cool off. If anything there's room for those two higher paid guys to improve

Health is still a problem with this team, or rather MKG in particular.

Yeah other than Kemba, who has straight up been amazing, offense has been inconsistent from the other players. But the defense is as good as it's ever been, no matter who is on the court. Currently 4th in D-eff in NBA.

Hawks game Friday night fairly big as far as early season games go. They've been really good this season too.

We never seem to play them well either, particularly at home (though their team has a little different make-up this year). Would be huge to knock them off.

Zeller been our second best player.

Damn, can't believe I typed that.

It all falls apart without MKG though. It really does.

Apparently Clifford ripped them a new one in the locker room at halftime against the TWolves (which was clearly deserved). I can't really picture him going nuts, but glad it had its desired effect.

Yeah Zeller's extension is looking like a steal. Cho should get a lot of credit for managing the cap relatively well with the key players.

Nice fourth quarter. Howard just can't help himself from being a dumbass. Atlanta fell apart without him on the court.

Yeah ridiculous game from Cody. He has played well all year, if he can keep this up consistently then this team will be really hard to beat. His basket dives in and passing out of the pick and roll have gotten really strong.

Tough stretch of games coming up, and I think 18 in 32 nights. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and playing well.

Ugh, tough loss on the 2nd of a back-to-back. Lost a double digit 4th quarter lead with about 6 minutes to play. Anyone know why Zeller didn't play?
