Season Long College Basketball Thread

Andre would have been done if he didn't redshirt last year, which he did only so he could be a postgrad transfer.

Almost forgot, Cornelius Hudson transferred to D2 Angelo State. He was on their roster to start the season. Played in their first exhibition game at Texas, and has since dropped off the Angelo State roster. So, it appears that Crab's college career is over.

Went 3-9 in that game (1-5 on 3 pt. tries) with 7 points and 5 turnovers in 22 minutes.

Washington's performance makes a case for redshirting project bigs even if they had a postgrad HS year. He's 23 years old.

I saw Belmont vs. Florida in Tampa last night. Canyon Barry went off in the 2nd half. He was the best player on the floor. Wouldn't be a bad backup plan going forward to just leave a scholarship open to go after postgrad shooters like Arians, Williams (either one), and Barry.

Saw some highlights where Cav got dominated on the boards late in the game.

That happened with regularity to both Cav and Devin. Over the past few years, it seemed like during every close game the opponent would get a key offensive board which would lead to the decisive points for the opponent.

Overton would. And Watson. And Hudson. And Andre Washington. But other than that, sure.

Overton would have graduated last year. If Danny didn't do Washington a solid by red-shirting him, he wouldn't be here. He would have graduated.

Hudson got kicked off the team.

Watson would.

Dont know if any of you guys watched Creighton yet but they are damn good. You guys looked really good against CofC, we are going to have a couple of fun, offensive friendly games between NCSU and WF this year. ACC is STACKED.

Just realized 60th-ish in Kenpom is good enough for 13th in the ACC in his rankings.

You ain't kiddin'

@bobknightfan

"After an awesome weekend from the free-throw line, the national average for free throw percentage rose to 69.78% in games involving two D-I teams. The season-long record was set…last season at 69.96%. But shooting numbers always improve as the season progresses, so that figure will get shattered by season’s end. For instance, through 11 days of basketball action last season, the average was 68.47%. Once players shake the rust off, it’s almost certain this will be the first season since Naismith was dealing with unruly kids at the Springfield YMCA that players collectively shoot better than 70% from the line."

Per Ken Pomeroy.

So just looking at Northwestern on Kenpom and who they've beaten/how they played in their losses. That is going to be a really, really tough game for the Deacs.

Yes, we'll be underdogs. Would possibly still be at a neutral site.

Another measuring stick for Northwestern tonight playing Notre Dame.

Thanks for the updates, Pilch. I do appreciate them and nice to see these guys mostly doing well. But it's still painful. At least I have UVA season tix, and VT is on the rise with Buzz and will hopefully make the tourney this year.

More power to you if you enjoy that style of bball.

Didn't Notre dame hit a similar shot on the same end of this floor the last time they played a purple team? (Last years tourney vs Stephen f. Austin?)

NW definitely is a solid team. Had ND on the ropes but not being in the bonus led to a bad inbounds pass when the Irish were trying to foul. Like ND, they have a lot of shooters.
