Wake just gave up 95 to Clemson

Good grief, not a great game lot night defensively. They shot well and our defensive changes, if there were any, just didn't work. JC is just great, not sure how he got so good so fast but one of the best in the ACC. Hope he stays but I think the chances are low.

I am still high on Manning. He is improving and if you don't see it you have too high expectations for the situation or just want to bitch. Manning's stock is on the rise, get on board and maybe he continues to improve his coaching and we get back to where we want to be. It will be clear in a few seasons, let's try to be optimist instead of a little shit.

When Arians, Dinos, and Keyshawn combine for 6 buckets and less than 15 points... We're going to lose. They were -12 against the bottom 3 Clemson starters, and that's despite a 21 point bench performance by Reed.

Even with all that, plus the horrid calls, plus the freakshow shooting by Clemson - still made it a 6 point game with over a minute to go.

Doesn't sound like those guys not scoring was the problem. 95 points.

The problem is we have multiple players that are consistently bad on defense and inconsistently good on offense. When a couple of them have a bad offensive game at the same time, we are in trouble.

That was the first game all season where I can say we played like crap the whole game. Even when it was close, we played sloppy. Then the defense broke down in the 1st and never recovered.

Fire the defense coach.

Hire Dino to teach the pack line.

By the way, what is the deal with Dinos? He's really not a "stretch 4" right now. He's scored in double figures only once in the last 9 games, with 3 whole 3 pointers made during that period. Meanwhile, he just kills us on the defensive end. We don't really have someone that can consistently play the 4 in his place this season, but if he continues to average around 5 pts and 4 boards a game in 25 or so minutes, then we are probably spotting the other team at least 10 points during that 25 minutes.

Dinos seems to get worse offensively every year.

Dinos had a poor game in every respect, apart from a couple base line jumpers.

In fact, he has had a poor junior season. Disappointing. But he is ours and we have no one who can play his position, especially with McClinton injured. BTW, what's the word on McClinton?

Really hard not to have freakshow shooting as you call it when the other team is not within six feet of you when you shoot the ball. Gosh even Codi Miller McIntrye might have made those shots against a defense played like that. Clemson had wide open threes all night long and layups from our breakdowns so what is so hard to not hit I am just saying.

Dinos got Arinzed.

We definitely could play Collins and Moore together instead. Manning will not do it, but there are a lot of potential positives to go along with some negatives with that lineup.

Would it have been more palatable to lose 67-55? A loss is a loss no matter how many the other team scores.

Could remove the "95" from the thread title, considering it looked like the players and staff didn't want to be there last night. #TuesdayCurse

Our defense is pretty bad across the board, but it really goes if the shots aren't falling.

Effort on the defensive side of the ball seems to be pretty highly correlated with whether or not we are doing well offensively. That's not a good thing at all.

We don't have the players to play D. Add to that JC has to stay on the court and can't be that aggressive on D as the refs make insane calls on him regularly.
