Wake Forest Football Offseason Discussion

Pretty stoked about seeing Wade/Hines/Lewis on the field at the same time.

Marquel with 2nd most number of bench press and 2nd fastest 40 time for LB's?

Or am I reading that wrong?

Not sure about the 40 time. Said he ran a 4.6ish yesterday. Not sure how that would have stacked up laser time at the combine.

But yes he was 2nd best among LBs for the bench press.

Josh Okonye tweeted that he is heading to Purdue as a post grad.

Was this expected? I don't remember him being discussed as a graduating rJR.

Okonye would have brought veteran leadership to the secondary next year. He's a solid player on the 2 deep and will be missed.

Both of these Dan Collins articles from earlier this week are worth reading.

There’s praise for Jamie Newman here: http://www.journalnow.com/sports/wfu/basketball/clawson-s-message-of-the-day-spring-break-is-over/article_ce888b77-befc-594b-a93e-a9e4ea43e7f7.html

There’s more info on the Claude and Brown departures in this article, plus more discussion of the decision to move Grate to CB here: http://www.journalnow.com/sports/wfu/football/receivers-claude-brown-leave-wake-program/article_1972b8c0-b093-5d6f-ad48-2d3aa3e64313.html

The team got these yesterday:

Now that our basketball season is over, I'm ready to fully focus on spring football and our upcoming season.
Last year I was cautiously optimistic. This year, I'm optimistic.

Been waiting to hear this:

“Part of the thought is Tabari and Dortch are slots and Chuckie can play anywhere,” Clawson said. “Chucky is really smart and he can play all three receiver positions.

“We’ve got to get him more involved. When he’s out there, he just makes plays.”

I guess Josh has been waiting four years to take some Engineering classes. Good Luck in the B1G, make friends and get your Masters Degree!
