Wake Forest Football Offseason Discussion

The completion percentage jumped out to me. Hinton completed 33%. Wolford, Newman and Kearns combined to complete 71% of their passes.

Noticed that too. That kind of thing in scrimmages is what tends to move Hinton back to 2nd string if it's more than just a blip. Hinton fans wouldn't be happy. Hinton seems to manage better under the lights though.

Poisson is too close to Normal distribution for Wake. Need to do Latin Hypercube sampling on probably 10 million Monte Carlo runs to adequately characterize the low probability, high consequence events in the CCDF.

Definitely can use a linear model considering the older we get the more points we average per game.

It's a scrimmage. Context is hard to come by.

But wouldn't it be nice if we could afford to?

We can afford to. Unless Beal is a game changer (which we thought Byrd was last fall).
Claw, from the official site mentioned that Beal looked good but has work to do (as all freshman do).

Between Carney, Colburn, Bell (?), and Byrd. They should be able to get it done.

Were the slick moves displayed by Beal, Hinton and Carney downfield, or in the backfield amid a sea of defenders who were blowing through the OL?

I did not go to the game today. Does anyone know if Byrd is healthy and if he played at all today?

Well based on the stats, Carney and Beal only had one big run each and the rest were barely positive yards if that.

Ryan Bartow reported here that Clemson post-grad DB Adrian Baker narrowed his list and cancelled his Wake Forest visit. Oklahoma State is currently leading for Baker.

That's disappointing but maybe he just really likes orange and doesn't want to face his former teammates.

Bell is out for the season with an ACL. There's a great site with a pretty nice guy as the lead reporter who is at all the spring camp practices — would keep you up to date on all this info. Might wanna give it a look.

The plan from the start was for Beal to play this season, and with Bell out for the year it's certain now. Running back coach Hunter has probably the most diverse group of backs from a skill set perspective he's had here at Wake Forest.

I can't remember...was Hinton granted a medical redshirt for his injury? Or do we not know yet?

That's not granted until he is out of eligibility.
