Great Players Tribune article by incoming freshman Tayvon Bowers

Anybody watched that QB1 web series featuring Bowers yet?

I have. It's pretty well done. Bowers and Fromm seem like good kids. Martell comes off as a mega douche. Tayvon's team seemed pretty weak so I don't think he had much to work with but he seemed solid.

Good stuff. Clawson just seems like a straight up legit guy. I will give Wellman credit where credit is due for that hire.

Nice. I watched the first ep. That clip in the article looks like classic Peter Berg. I hadn't seen that Bowers was grayshirting. Glad he will make it to campus this summer.

Really, really good article. Tay sounds like he possesses the type of leadership that you can build a program around. Not gonna lie, I got choked up a couple times when he was talking about his dad.

Proud of the way Clawson and Bowers have handled this situation. So much to like about our fball program!

Great stuff in this passage:

But when I answered, Coach wasn’t angry or disappointed that I’d been injured. In fact, the first thing he asked me was how the surgery went. And then he said something I’ll never forget:

“I want you to know that your place at Wake Forest is still secure. I know that you are 100% committed to us. And you know what? We’re 100% committed to you.”

Those words, man … they meant the world to me. I honestly almost started crying. I wanted to get on a flight down to Winston Salem just to hug the guy. Just hearing his tone of voice made me want to work even harder once I was medically cleared.

Same here.
Very good article and impressive young man.
I love his mental toughness and leadership.
Hope he has a great career at Wake and after

Thanks for posting. Tayvon sounds like a great near future to the Wake family.

To the smart ass tagger, Claw is a devout Catholic and in church almost every Sunday. Many of our boys on the team came from catholic high schools. Keep your comments to yourself unless you want to out the priest you're talking about. Willing to testify? PM me I could use your help.

let me guess. You must have been an alter boy.

Ps: Sandusky wasn't a priest nor a catholic.

settle down sally

Really impressed by the leadership of Fromm and Bowers. Much less so by Martell, who seems like a self-absorbed, metrosexual douche.

No problem Mill, However I find "priest molesting riscdeac" disturbing. I wrote a heartfelt post on Bowers and thought someone might get a chuckle out of priests on the sidelines at football games. i.e high schools galor, and haha Notre Dame whose kicked our asses all but once(?). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Growing up it was comical watching the same old Irish priests (flask under robes) cheering on their team. Hardly think the old timers had the energy to get their Irish up when they were sippin.Cut em some slack. Pedophilia crosses all lines. I'm sure you know the stats or maybe some of you watch spotlight as much as our boys watch game film. Should have left out Bishop McDevitt but I believe Bowers went for a reason. Hell, maybe they needed a good QB cause the team was hurting. I don't know why as I didn't watch the rest of QB1.

Just as I was explaining myself above some other coward (riscdeac molests cadavers) made a lovely comment. You must have a real small man's complex. Try a few hundred viagra or wait till you're dead. Your wife might finally have some fun for once in her life!!

Your dis doesn't make any sense, btw. I too thought your original post pulled Catholic slathering out of just about nothing, but I am not a big tag guy (or Christian guy). Don't even read tags. Eyes don't go there, but I think if you post religious stuff on the sports side, expect some good old fashioned internet sliming. That's just how the interweb goes. Thicker skin, bro, is the answer.

And viagra jokes don't play well, not since about 2002. I personally go to my doctor, get a medical prescription for good gonz, hit the medical dispensary and make a back door deal to buy all the extracted pot oil I can get my hands on. That I use to cook with but also to slather my johnson with. Great lube with a super long dick hard. So replace viagra with THC oil and you're back on gold with your sex / wife disses. Me personally, not a big fan of the sex - wife dis, but that's another post.
