Isn't there some kind of conventional wisdom that european teams do poorly in world cups in south america?

They haven't won there. But my memory doesn't go back far enough to know how many Euros have gotten to the quarters, semis and finals. In terms of chances of winning this year, I'd put Brazil, Argentina and Germany as the top 3. I'd be happy with Argentina winning it and Messi getting the golden boot. The 1 name guys have won it often enough, and you just can't root for ze Germans - unless it's of course for ze Germans to wipe their asses with Portugal so Portugal can't get by us or Ghana on goal differential.

No World Cup has even been held in South America since the 70s. (1986 it was held in Mexico, if you want to count that.)

So, I'm not sure that history has any rational judgment on how European teams will do in 2014 Brazil.

No European team has ever won the CONMEBOL Copa America.

I see that at least one person has my exact winning lineup. Is there a tiebreaker?
