BBall Recruiting Thread 2k16- SJM, Washington, Childress & Mitchell sign NLIs; 2017?

You are making my argument for me. Saying things like 'very, very likely" and "very, very small chance" acknowledges that there is a chance those things would happen - and that mean Giles is going to think about them as well. Which means a commit from Gabriel would be a factor in Giles decision - whether large or small, negative or positive, none of us know. All I am saying is that it most definitely WILL be a factor.

Stop being a know-it-all ass and saying it will not be a factor.
...except K can stop Gabriel from impacting Harry's decision by just not letting him commit until after Harry does, as I stated already (if you wanna run with the extremely unlikely theory that Harry would be worried about losing playing time to Gabriel). Scout had an article (behind a pay wall) about the Duke interest likely delaying (not expediting) Gabriel's decision.

OK, enough Duke talk from me for the day.

all scooter is saying is to stop speaking in absolutes

we toss out stupid ideas and arguments and predictions and logical leaps about the whims of 17-year old basketball phenoms all day everyday on this thread

the notion that gabriel MIGHT have some influence on hg's decision is not batshit crazy

which is better for us:

Gabriel committing to duke COULD impact Giles' decision
vs
Gabriel committing to duke MIGHT impact Giles' decision

??

My personal opinion is that what Gabriel does shouldn't have an impact on HG but HG could negatively impact Gabriel's interest in Duke if freshman PT is very important to him. Duke staff will need to consider that but it surely won't impact their recruitment of HG.

this doesn't have to do with recruiting, im sorry, though all 5 of giles' schools are on here.

just different display of common knowledge, thought it was interesting to see it in win shares for next year while reading an article about kentucky's nba dominance

And, of course, 9 of the 10 schools on that list have made the Final Four in recent memory. Just one punch in the nuts after another.

Another day, another dumb Giles argument.

As most of you guys know, Giles plays for CP3's 17u team. A couple of my oldest son's friends play for CP3's 16u team, that travels and practices with the 17u team.

One of those kids tweeted Harry Giles University with the Wake logo in the background last night - https://twitter.com/RIPJTMC/status/625808535079788544.

It probably doesn't mean anything, but at least Harry gave the tweet a favorite.

It's what happens when you have a yearlong tacked thread for a subject that doesn't yield yearlong constant news.

I mean, there is solid news and info every few pages, and then a few people posting a bunch for no discernible fucking reason. It's like a bunch of people are trying to impersonate numbers, but they're all nonsense and no ninja.

Yeah. We've been getting regular AAU reports all summer. There's news.

Yes, the updates on Wright's and Washington's play (plus other potential recruits) this summer have been good to read. I don't have time to scour twitter and 247 every day for tidbits and I really appreciate those updates on this thread.

July threads are always like this because it's mostly just baseball and golf going on. Giles isn't making a decision for a few months. This board is just an outlet for thoughts.

No new offers in '16 this week, so it seems like the staff has a clear focus on their current targets and feel reasonably good about them. Of course, we offered a lot of players up front.

Big, big weekend upcoming.
