What happened to him.
Was he the guy that said James Johnson had the special grease or something like that?
What happened to him.
Well no one seems to know which degree exactly our graduate transfers work towards, but I assume it's something like the MALS which is a one year MA.In one year it's unlikely he was leaving Wake with a degree... And it's not like he went somewhere else. Things fell into place and he decided to stay put. Would have been a nice addition but ultimately Doubt it really matters much either way for us in terms of W and L
To be completely honest, many athletes aren't getting much out of their education regardless. The one-year MA at least gives them an excuse to transfer and play for another year. But you're right, probably not helping their job prospects tremendously.I can't imagine a one year masters does anything significant for these guys. But I could be wrong. Thanks for the info
You can ignore actual results and assume he "wasn't good enough" because DM has such a dynamo of talent coming in, or you can look at it realistically and realize that our program is so low and our staff's experience is so questionable that we couldn't hold onto a transfer who was handed the opportunity to earn a WFU degree and the chance to play in the ACC vs staying at UCF.
But it didn't look like he was going to start for us. He could have even been beaten out for being the first wing off the bench.

I'm not sour grapes, I never understood him to begin to have a chance to start for us. I thought his primary purpose was to provide some experience bench with some outside shooting. I don't think Danny is losing sleep over this one, y'all.
It's just my opinion, obviously, but student-athletes in general are choosing majors and scheduling classes around their athletic obligations. I'd think it is the exception when an athlete genuinely puts school first. That's what I mean. Just the way it is, I suppose.Could you expand on what you mean that they're not getting much out of their education?
Interesting point. Is an MA a prerequisite for broadcasting and coaching gigs? I hadn't thought of that. For those who want to stay in basketball beyond playing days, getting that masters degree out of the way now is a big help as you go to the next step in the profession.
