Official '15-16 NBA Season Thread: THEY WON ONE FOR THE LAND

I'll give him the benefit of being new to the nba. They have played so well in the play offs that maybe he is coming around. I think we'll know more this time next year.

Especially if Durant isn't there.

Grizzlies assistant coach Jeff [Redacted] interviewed with Grizzlies about their coach opening yesterday before talking to the Rockets today.

Holy fuck this motherfucker is getting multiple NBA HC interviews. Just... how.

From what I can tell based on Houston twitter, the Houston owner (Les Alexander) has basically picked D'Antoni as the next HC. Now the front office is scrambling fill out the rest of the staff. Front office also apparently liked Vogel, but Les Alexander wasn't on board.

I've thought Alexander was a great owner for years; it always seemed like he wrote checks and then got out of the way. This sucks.

His reach around game must be off the charts.

Stan Van Gundy was a terrible college coach, it's not unprecedented.

He's failed spectacularly at two college jobs and one nba job.

He's just not going to command respect or rally the troops.

NBA and college basketball are barely the same sport and the skills needed to be a good coach are completely different. With that said, it is hard to see Jeff Bz being too good. Joerger thinks Bz is good and that coaching staff did a great job this year. But still, wouldn't do it.

I will also say that I was too young to watch his Nugs teams with any kind of critical eye.

I don't remember his Nuggets teams but every time haralabob mentions the 3 or 4 worst HCs he's ever seen in the NBA, [name redacted] is in there. He's probably a decent NBA assistant, that's a completely different job too.

Haralob is the ultimate coach hater. He's like wake fans with Bzz for almost every coach in the league

His first Nuggets team was as bad as their talent. They got Carmelo and improved. I think the former may have been the goal in hiring [Redacted]. The Sixers should have done the same.

looks like it might be MDA in Houston with Bz as Assoc Head Coach/#2?

Not that I'm doubting you but can you link anything to this? Just curious to read what he said

I can't find the actual twitter posts, maybe too old?, but here's a few... didn't say much but Bz always comes up whenever the topic is broached.

@alecfwilson
@haralabob Were Eric Musselman and Jeff [name redacted] as bad as I remember?

Haralabos Voulgaris ‏@haralabob
@alecfwilson Yes. Especially [name redacted].

Haralabos Voulgaris
Worst coaches I’ve ever seen who aren’t current HC’s - Kuester, Kurt Rambis, M. Curry ,[name redacted] who else you guys got?

In response to worst coaches he's seen:
Haralabos Voulgaris
Keith Smart, early Wittman, [name redacted], O'Neill. All terrible. https://t.co/2VPfZOE268

And O'Neill is Kevin O'Neill who was at USC, so Ari and JTT got two gems for college coaches.
