Made a big noise when she hit the floor. I could hear it above Van Halen's "Jump" on the jukebox.

For the NC Collection? I like the dude, and was on a committee with him, but haven't really worked with him on anything other than that so can't speak to anything other than he seems like a good dude. I didn't go to any of the presentations, but I was a fan of the other in-house candidate, who's a cool woman whose husband works in Southern Folklife and is from Austin, I think. Cool couple and I hope they stick around. I should go to more presentations, but I'm just kind of fed up with library admin here.

There are a ton of positions opening up here and there has been a bunch of turnover lately -- including Rare Books Curator -- so it will be interesting to see who gets gigs. They tend to go with in-house people and/or people with UNC connections, which I'm not totally sure about, but they have a retention problem too, so maybe they figure those types will stick around longer and be cool with all the bureaucratic bullshit going on. Our leadership sucks. The interim special collections head sucks, I hate her, so I hope they hire for that soon, too. Morale is low.
 
Went to Olde Europe for the first time since they moved to Greensboro. I'd forgotten how good it is.

Also had a piece of cake with apricot glaze.
 
It's really strange to watch old school law and order episodes from the 90s.

Yo CT any advice on some legit OTC sleeping substances for a 9.5 hour red eye flight? I'm trying to arrive in Munich well rested on Friday morning.

Preferably something that its safe to mix a few dranks with. Gotta take advantage of dat free Lufthansa booze.
