We have a commit.
It was a joke.
We have a commit.
An inaccurate one.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Was pretty bummed we weren't going to get to watch. So we play UToronto, "CTG Knights", and the "Real Deal Shockers" (the latter two appear to be Bahamian teams). I know I shouldn't say this as a Wake fan but none of these should present much competition, right? The main perk is the additional practices, basically?
I do wish we would've recruited Batts a little harder, but we'll see how that turns out. Hopefully he goes to VCU so it doesn't come back to bite us too hard. Seen him a few times and he was always pretty impressive.
Watson just released his final four and Wake is not on it.
When Howard Washington committed to Butler before July it looked like the Bulldogs had a key piece to their 2016 recruiting class. In the end though that isn't the case. After leaving Montverde Academy in February, Washington and the Butler staff talked about his future in the program, and since that point the two have agreed mutually to go in a different direction.
Washington now will re-classify to 2017. Even though Washington had signed a Letter of Intent in the fall, Butler gave him a full release from his letter, and he is not bound by any restrictions.
Look for Washington, who is a good shooter and a solid floor general, to attract a good amount of interest as he goes through the spring and summer on the AAU circuit. Initially Washington had numerous high-major offers, including one from Wake Forest which pursued him aggressively before his commitment to Butler.
I'd much prefer Batts, if we're being honest, and wonder if 2017 is going to be another class of 3-star prospects after all.

Wait, so he listed his final 5 last Tuesday, and only cut us?

And 247 still has us as "warm."

It seems like the '17 players we've been mentioned with recently are C. Brown, Randolph, Jamal Johnson and Howard Washington. Missing any others? Not counting Bamba at this point either.
Doesn't seem like a true big is a focus as Watson was the only one I can recall us seeing recently.
Washington had some consistently good performances in Vegas and for Canada this July. Not completely sold yet though.
I'm beginning to think WF is aiming for only one more recruit in 2017. Then they'll try to add a post grad if (when?) McClinton goes the grad transfer route himself. It seems like the '17 players we've been mentioned with recently are C. Brown, Randolph, Jamal Johnson and Howard Washington. Missing any others?
