2016 College football thread

Duke just got completely screwed by the officials. That's something you never hear.

A clean standup strip of the TE got called back due to a quick whistle. Very quick whistle. One guy was trying to tackle and strip the ball. Just a ridiculous call.
 
Ville gets screwed on that punt return and then Duke gets screwed on that forward progress horse shit. Is this the best the ACC can do in regards to officials? Simply pathetic
 
Duke pulls within 3. Duke's offense is very similar to ours, even more vanilla. And they're moving the ball nicely.
 
So dumb. Duke did the only thing they could have done to cost them the game for good. Even if the kick made a kick well outside his range, it's a 6 point game.

Kicking a FG up 3 is a gift to the other team anyway.

The only option that potential wins the game is to go for it. Punting makes it harder for Duke to tie or win. Kicking the FG just forces them to go for the win.

Im not saying kicking the FG was the wrong choice, but considering it was a career long for the kicker, its just too big of a risk to give up that field position. Id say either go for it with your heisman candidate QB or try and pooch punt it inside the 10.
 
I don't see how that was roughing. I thought it shoulda been running into the kicker. Nevertheless, that was an outstanding game plan from Cut. Hopefully we emulate something similar tomorrow
 
Tulane hanging with Memphis on EspnU, 13-7 Memphis early in the 3rd with the Green Wave driving. We looked bad against Tulane, but Tulane is much better than we thought I think.
 
it was 4th and 22 from the 29. if the dont get it, the are up 3 with duke on the 36. didnt you always crush grobe for punting from inside the opponent's 40?

I thought it was weak to be roughing too, but you can even give the refs the opportunity to call it.

Sure on 4th and short or with a good kicker.
