2016 College football thread

That last minute and change would be enough for me to want to fire Doeren if I were a state fan. Wooooof
 
I'm at the unc game. The holes were asleep for the first quarter. Can't cheer for either team, just against the Wolfies. Then on to the Pit in Raleigh.

So if they win, can we spin this as a good thing because it means Doeren's job is a little bit safer, and since he's basically mediocre, and spares us from them making an upgrade? I'm sure I'm reaching here.
 
The 4th down review that stood as a catch for UNC was absolute BS.

If you have it on your DVR, there's an angle that clearly shows the ball on the ground and the receivers hands ~12 inches above it.

I'm not at a good place to take screenshots, but this was egregious.

What a a quandary. I don't want NCSU to win and become bowl eligible, but on the other hand I hate everything UNC--

Given our history, it would be a pretty big stretch to assume that NCSU football would hire an above average coach. Think we have proven that for many years and with several different AD's in charge. Sad thing is that we are about 4 plays and chip shot FG's from being 10-2.
 
I think with Wake beats BC tomorrow that this win over UNC will give Dave Dorean a total of 2 wins in 4 years over teams that have over a .500 record. So... Go DEACS!

I know I'm a Wake fan so have no room to talk but WTF happened to the expectations for your football program.

Well, it is like I have told a lot of people the past few weeks. This is a much different football season if a 33 yard field goal right down the middle goes through in Death Valley.

Also, whole lot of other bad breaks including:
-Dropped pick six against ECU that would have more than likely won us the game.
-Negated TD against BC for a TE being covered, and it really looked like the wrong call.
-And dropped a pick that went right through our hands that would have sealed the game against FSU.

Of course, we are known for those bad breaks haha. But, in my opinion, that kick in Death Valley is the difference in a six win season and an eight or nine win season.

Expectations are still there, I just like to look at it as a realist instead of a PackPride crazy. I see no reason that NCSU shouldn't be able to go 8-4 most seasons and occasionally compete for the ACC champioinship in the current college football climate. That said we have only won 9 games or more like 5 of the last 25 years so I think it's a little nuts to think we should go 10-2 every season. Bigpack had a solid post up above me. NCSU and Doeren have been pointing to next year as the year for something to happen for several seasons now so we will see how that goes.
 
Made the mistake of going to the bathroom during the Arizona State-Arizona game. Missed another score.

Inconclusive so you uphold the call on the field. The ball moved but you couldn't tell if it hit the ground.
