He is playing the same sport that everyone else is playing, where "fluke" contact occurs on every play, yet he gets hurt to the degree of missing games at a higher rate than most other players. It's not like he was in a car wreck completely unrelated to the sport. Staying healthy while playing the sport is a natural talent that can be improved with various types of work, the same as shooting or jumping, and is just as important as any other attribute with regards to his ultimate production. Would you give the biggest contract in the history of the sport to a player that had another glaring hole in his game, like not being able to shoot or dribble as well as the average player at his position? It is stupid when people ignore a player's injury history when evaluating them as a player for any purpose, and especially for contractual purposes. Staying on the floor is a skill that is just as important as any other.
