Presumably OFFICIAL 2016/17 Premier League

Why can't we play an entire match the way we did the last 25 minutes? Fucking infuriating. 65 minutes of long balls to Lukaku followed by 25 minutes of beautiful soccer. Fuck me.

I missed first 60 of match. Last 30 was beautiful. Sounds like first 60 was same unimaginative crap.

So the manager must have a new opinion after this match http://toffeeweb.com/season/16-17/news/33990.html

Clearly young Mason Holgate is ready for this league. I'm not sure what Davies has to do to convince him too.

With loads of young players making an impact around the league, Koeman can't be complacent with men like Cleverley ruining matches.

Rojo should have been sent off. Barry committed three bookable offenses in the first hour of the match and only got the one caution. Our finishing remains terrible as we should have won that match 3/4 - 1. Fellaini is an idiot and I'm still not positive that was a penalty, but he gave the referee the option, so there ya go.

Horrid start to the season.

Michael Oliver had a terrible match.

How should it have been 3 or 4 to 1 when you had all of two shots on goal and one went in?

Everton utterly dominated the final third of the match. Before that it was closed off and ugly.

Agree with the rest of your assessment. Barry could have been sent off too. Oliver had no sense of the match at any point. And the penalty was soft but Felliani was an idiot to put himself in that position.

Herrera hit the post and a couple really poor efforts, a couple from Martial immediately come to mind, around the 18 that didn't even try to trouble Sket. The fact that there were only 2 shots on goal helps my case that United's finishing was poor again and doesn't counter it.

Until the final 25 or so minutes (Deflou coming on) Everton only created a couple chances from Bolasie torching Darmian down your right.

Yes it was an ugly match but United were comfortable for the most part and Everton were pedestrian. Even the penalty came out of a big nothing burger but Fellaini is an idiot that lost his mind. Not even sure what Mou was doing bringing him on for Mkhy when we didn't have 2 wide players on the pitch. Curious substitution.

Herrera and Ibra were the only dangerous-ish players all day for United

Pogba, Martial, Mkhy all did nothing

Everton had 13 shots and 6 on goal to United's 10 and 2

xG was 0.8-0.7 with Everton at a slight edge

Your assessment is biased--United looked poor for long stretches, they just weren't creating chances

I'll admit Everton weren't for the first 60 minutes either

United's last shot was at the 66 min mark. Those 10 shots were in 66 minutes. That is creating chances and then it all going to shit. The fact this happened after Cleverley went off in the 65th minute isn't a coincidence -- worst player on the pitch by a mile for me.

Pogba dribbled by numerous Everton players. I really disagreed with your assessment earlier about Gana having him in his pocket, but Gana had a fantastic match so I let it go.

Avg ratings on whoscored: Everton 6.64 (including MOTM Gana at 7.9) -- United 7.03 (including the do nothing's Pogba - 7.2, Mkhy 7.5, and Martial 7.7). United were playing well for the most part but just not doing enough in and around the opposition's 18 yard area. It is a very real concern as it is clearly a trend now and not just "luck" as the boss would try to have us all believe.

I suspect those match ratings had to do with dribbling around a lot and completing passes because they certainly didn't have anything to do with breaking Everton down and creating chances.

I was right there with you at season start saying United would win the league. Texted a buddy before the match that the league needs to be on alert if Mkhy is fit and in form. Still feel that Pogba has the opportunity to be the best player in the league. None of those things have really happened at all. Don't think I'm being biased, just my assessment of the match.

Everton weren't good today by any stretch. Bolasie, Mirallas, Lukaku were all just ok. Baines and Coleman played pretty well and Holgate was outstanding in his brief appearance. Cleverley was the worst player on the field by a mile. Funes Mori was inconsistent. Williams was good, not great. That's about my thoughts. Not much else worth arguing over in a fairly boring 1-1.

And yeah the ten shots in 66 minutes combined for less an expected goal (xG):

Presumably OFFICIAL 2016/17 Premier League - FUCKIN' INT'L BREAKS

As an Everton fan who borderline hates watching my team right now...Man U are middling a EPL team. Better than us, but not by much.

Be curious to determine how big those squares get

I was dead certain Ander was going to score when he hit the bar, for instance.

Pogba created 3 chances today, btw. Mkhy 0, Martial 2.

That's like saying Everton could have scored three or four times had we not played long ball for the first 2/3 of the match.

At least ManU had possession in the offensive half for more than 5 seconds at a time.
