Official Russian Election Interference Thread

how many times has he lied about it...it changes every day.

no meeting and this is left bias, shameful lies...
a meeting with 3 of us, but nothing happened. transparency...
ok, the meeting had 5 of us but it was only 20 minutes...
ok, seriously this time there was only 8 of us...

These are entitled assholes who haven't faced consequences for their lies.

This. And I know that most Republicans are not this, but I hope the midwestern rubes who thought this entitled asshole really "got them" and "listened to them" will figure out that this party doesn't give two shits about them and will stop being suckered into their cons.

well since deplorables went over so well, I'm sure spending 4 years calling them rubes will work out swimmingly.

She called half of them deplorables. She called the other half working class people who felt government wasn't working for them. They chose to identify with the deplorable side of her comment.

Rolf Mowatt-Larssen is the director of the Intelligence and Defense Project at Harvard’s Belfer Center. He served for three years as director of intelligence and counterintelligence at the Department of Energy and for 23 years as a CIA intelligence officer in domestic and international posts.

...everything we know about the meeting — from whom it involved to how it was set up to how it unfolded — is in line with what intelligence analysts would expect an overture in a Russian influence operation to look like. It bears all the hallmarks of a professionally planned, carefully orchestrated intelligence soft pitch designed to gauge receptivity, while leaving room for plausible deniability in case the approach is rejected. And the Trump campaign’s willingness to take the meeting — and, more important, its failure to report the episode to U.S. authorities — may have been exactly the green light Russia was looking for to launch a more aggressive phase of intervention in the U.S. election campaign.

Maybe he WANTS to screw his father over? How the hell do you lie (I know Trump Lie, etc) on national TV about HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE IN THE ROOM??

Except Trump helped write Don Jr's first response when this story first broke. They are all in this together but as PH stated, they have never faced consequences for their lies and moral ineptitude.

...

As Air Force One jetted back from Europe on Saturday, a small cadre of Mr. Trump’s advisers huddled in a cabin helping to craft a statement for the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., to give to The New York Times explaining why he met last summer with a lawyer connected to the Russian government. Participants on the plane and back in the United States debated how transparent to be in the statement, according to people familiar with the discussions.

Ultimately, the people said, the president signed off on a statement from Donald Trump Jr. for The Times that was so incomplete that it required day after day of follow-up statements, each more revealing than the last. It culminated on Tuesday with a release of emails making clear that Mr. Trump’s son believed the Russian lawyer was seeking to meet with him to provide incriminating information about Hillary Clinton as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”

Youre right, we should feign compassion for them and call them rock stars and get their votes before conning them out of the American dream.

LOL. Shep must know where tons of bodies are buried for them to keep letting him drop truth bombs like that.

Veselnitskaya was the lead attorney in the Prevezon money laundering case. That case was being tried by Preet Bharara. This case had been going on for over two years before the election. This group of people had laundered over $230,000,000. They had evaded tens of millions, if not more, in US income taxes.

After the election, Bharara was fired. This incredibly important position has yet to be filled. Trump's personal attorney, Marc Kaosowitz has openly bragged about getting Bharara fired.

What happened to the case? Well, none of Veselnitskaya's clients went to jail. Their "penalty" for laundering nearly a quarter of a billion dollars and avoiding paying taxes on it was under $6,000,000.

But Veselnitskaya got nothing from the Trump Tower meeting, eh?

What's the old saying, "I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night."

This has to be investigated. There are thousands who are in federal prison with far less evidence than we have here.

It sure smells like the Trump DOJ gave a get out of jail free card to Putin's buddies.

It's pretty easy to say this must be investigated.

A distraction

What’s happening right now with Donald Trump Jr. is the very definition of a witch hunt.

Democrats have been looking for something to condemn President Trump with since before the election. They have nitpicked every little off-hand tweet or joke he’s made, trying to portray him as a traitor and a nut. They weren’t going to give him a chance no matter what. And the press was complicit.

And now, since they can’t pin anything on the president, they’re going after his son (“Emails putting focus on Trump Jr.,” July 12).

Who cares if he met some lawyer before the election? He was just meeting a friend of a friend. He didn’t get anything from her. He didn’t do anything illegal.

This is just a distraction the press is throwing up to keep Congress from repealing Obamacare and building the wall to keep illegal immigrants out.

Folks, we have bigger fish to fry.

78% of this is correct. Do you think Democrats were ever going to give him a chance?

And you know that dude was all #BENGHAZI!!!!

And I have no idea how this investigation stops Republicans from building a wall or repealing Obamacare.
