^^^I was thinking more Triggerlypuff. which is just a fatter version of those kids.

Holy shit. Welcome back, dude.

Dafuq did I just read?

I get some of the complaints, especially staff pay. Seems like they're pissed at the business school for some reason. I know Wake has a huge Greek scene, but I was a GDI and so were pretty much all of my friends, and it didn't bother us.

They should have mentioned Ron Wellman.

I don't even understand what the first two are saying. More shouting?

If only we could employ enough administrators to properly address these students' concerns.

are you really outcasts if there are five of you?

Shouting is a metaphor for their internal pain. Like hellfire, or something. Dante wasn't really clear on the geedy circle of hell.

I don't suppose it matters that only one of the pseudonyms in the signature was a heretic?

Beatrice was a total babe. I almost taught Vita Nuova this semester but changed my mind. Dante's description of love-at-first-sight has stuck with me since i first read it.

If only the youth were given a choice about where they attend college.

I mean... I get some of where they are coming from, especially with regard to school staff/employees, but the rest of it sounds pretty dumb - especially reading it as a pretty "un-cool" kid who somehow managed to navigate my way through four years at Wake (and have a great time doing it). I also don't think it's the job of college to educate people about The World as they mention in their 5th point - you should be able to choose your own course of study. Would it behoove you as a person to be worldly? Yes... but it's not the job of the university (or any university) to force that upon you.

Ten years from now, they're going to laugh at themselves for writing this and getting so worked up about meaningless stuff to the same extent as they got worked up about legitimate issues.

When I was at Wake, there seemed be three groups of people with respect to Greek life.

1. People who really cared about it and were sure it was for them.
2. People who didn't care much about it but rushed and enjoyed it or rushed and didn't do it.
3. People who didn't care about it and were sure it wasn't for them.

These people seem to be in a tough 4th group of people who care a lot about Greek life and got rejected and are still salty. I'm sure there were people like that back in my day, but I don't remember them.

That's a pretty core element of a liberal arts education, thus the required courses.

Right - but not to the level of subject-matter granularity that they're talking about. Taking core courses across various subjects, sure... but anthropology vs. women's and gender studies are both 'human sciences' or however they're categorized. IMO, a liberal arts education teaches you how to look across a broad spectrum of learning in order to think critically. It doesn't tell you WHAT to think.

Women’s and gender studies teaches you how to think critically about gender.

Really not surprised to hear that Aramark still sucks though.

The frat thing is dumb. If you don't like Greek life, then don't rush or go to parties. It's not like there's NOTHING else to do at Wake.
