Does he bring his entire coaching staff with him? Does this move Randolph into the AD as an administrator....or does he remain on the bench and continue to recruit? FWIW, I think Currie will let Forbes be Forbes and do what he thinks is best rather than having Wellman dictate.

I'd be okay with Chill staying on the bench as long as the others are guys Forbes brings in and Chill can finally learn from a real coach.

Agreed, Ross is a great Deac and been very supportive to the University, we'd be a helluva lot better off had we hired Kelsey or Miller instead of Manning
 
I'm delighted. Such an un-Wake hire. A guy with balls that isn't afraid to ruffle feathers. Has coached under some great coaching minds and can win without 5* recruits. I think he's a guy that can quickly rebuild.

Wellman would HAVE NEVER .... let me repeat ... NEVER, EVER, EVER.... have hired this guy. His ego would have been far too fragile to deal with Forbes.

Forbes top assistant, Jason Shay is a leading candidate to replace Forbes at ETSU. Clearly, that staff had it going at ETSU (30-4 last year); so, it would make sense.

Mckie is from VA, was a stud player at S. Carolina (he is the Gamecocks all-time leading scorer). McKie played pro professionally for 15 years, and then was an assistant at Charleston Southern before getting the UTC job.

Lots of connections in and around the Carolinas with those two.

New coach gets to hire his own staff.
 
A good thing about Forbes is that at every stop (including P6) he has had to look for the 4* guys who may fall under the radar. With the new era that's about to happen, this is very important.
 
Random but BJ McKie and Ace Custis have a strong association in my mind. Ballers at non-traditional powers from my childhood.
