Ohio gambling regulators halted sports betting on Alabama baseball following suspicious activity during the Bama-LSU game last weekend

The bet limits on college baseball are so low; not sure it would be worth trying to fix the games. Also, the games draw so little action (handle) that fixing a game would be easily detected. Then again, never under estimate to the stupidity of others.

Pilch, how would Ohio know to target Alabama baseball based on bets for one game (or one series)? How would they know it's not about LSU baseball?

I keep being confused every time I see Indiana State at #10 in RPI.

I think there is a service in Vegas that monitors all this stuff, and sent out a APB of sorts. Ohio was the only state that did anything about it. There is no national or federal commission, so each state acts individually.

I hope Friday, since he pitched before Sullivan on Saturday. I got tickets for Friday, but any of the 3 pitchers are worth the price of admission.

Is Friday or Saturday Lowder day? Going to try to make either Friday night or Saturday this week.
I think Stan mentioned during the Wofford game that the plan was to get back to the normal rotation this weekend - which would mean Friday - but I can’t confirm that.

Feel like there is starting to be a pretty big gap between LSU/WF and the rest of the field. WF has 6 losses; LSU has 8. #3 Vandy has 11. S. Carolina is the only other ranked team to not have double digit losses.

If LSU and WF both finish first in the regular season in their respective conferences, which seems likely, the overall #1 seed will likely comedown to the conference tourney winner. If both win or both don't win, LSU will probably be the #1 seed because of the overall strength of the SEC.

While it would be nice to be the #1 overall seed, loving that WF will essentially need to win at home to go to Omaha. The Deacs are 24-1 at the Couch. Can't wait for the turnout for the regionals. Will be an awesome scene for WF Sports.
I wouldn't worry about trying to win ACC tourney. If we win a game or two fine but we want the pitching staff at full strength come regional time. The only teams trying to win tournament are those on bubble to get in or those on the bubble trying to host a regional. (Miami, BC, and somehow UVA now all fall into that segment).

I think it's premature to declare a "pretty big gap between LSU/WFU and the rest of the field". We are obviously playing extremely well, but some traditional ACC powers are down and the SEC looks strong again.

And Wake has zero NCAAT experience, unlike Vandy, So Carolina, etc.

he was talking about seeding for the ncaa tournament

but also, we do have at least some tournament experience from last year. our team has almost for sure collectively played more NCAAT games than South Carolina (who

I’d like to win the ACCT even if it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Hopefully in this god awful format we are able to identify that we’re good to advance even with a loss in game two and can have the pitching go accordingly.

I harp on this every year but the format is about as bad as you can get. I’d far prefer if they just gave the 1-4 teams a bye and the 5-12 teams had to play an extra game. So just get rid of pool play (where one game is already guaranteed to be irrelevant for ACCT purposes - although you can argue there are cases where teams may want a chance to improve their resume).
