No, NCAA. I talked to someone in their AD's office yesterday and they feel they are in a similar situation to where Wake was late in the basketball season: in if they don't totally screw the pooch, but rather not put it in the hands of the cmte.

Not at all, which is why I thought he made the right decision to finish out at Notre Dame for major $$ and at least the the chance to make the CFB playoff. If he had returned to Wake we maybe go 8-4/9-3 and he achieves legendary/lifetime Wake football status, but again can't fault his decision.

Your analysis is not wrong as it relates to high school sports. For years I was associated with a powerhouse high school football program that defintiely made a profit, which in large part helped fund other sports at the school.

I totally get what you're saying. It's like if your favorite band starts releasing uninspired pablum, or your go-to restaurant changes from fresh ingedients to frozen. You still care about what used-to-be, but the level of current interest/support/passion is a shadow of what it once was.
