WFU Hoops: '24-'25 Roster Construction Thread: +Spillers/Biliew/Cosby/Johnson/Abass

For what it’s worth, I think the money for a subscription is much better spent on getting to read quality stories from interesting angles than it is getting to learn about something specific a few hours before everyone else does.
And full butthole spread.

So if I’m following the latest roster construction news correctly, likely June before we know about the Euro prospect and Casper?

Stop clutching your pearls.
Thin skin les and condescending cam have done their best to treat a good percentage of us like shit. For two people who depend on others paying for their work - they sure don't act like it. Respect goes both ways
Who is thin skinned? The reporter reacting to fans or the fan who thinks the reporter isn't treating them respectfully enough because they're paying the bills?

Pretty clearly the reporter that doesn’t think anyone else has a valuable opinion and gets pissy whenever someone disagrees with him. Come on. This isn’t hard.

So what’s the deal with Kasparas Jakucionis? Is he interested in Wake or what? Or are other teams now in the picture?
Since you asked...

Kasparas is a 17 year old high quality PG from Spain. His listed height has been from 6'4" to 6'6", so he is a good fit for the long, athletic team Forbes is trying to recruit. He has an accurate shot and can take it to the hole and score. He is an accurate and willing passer that delivers the ball to teammates in position to score and can do so on the move and in traffic. He passes the ball to the low post with anticipation and without hesitation. Video hasn't shown his ability to handle the ball under pressure or in a press. He likely needs work on his defense. He is a known commodity in US coaching circles and has been receiving attention since last year. Wake appears to be a legitimate candidate for his services. He is also considering remaining in Europe to improve his skills and physically mature. His summer basketball schedule would prohibit him from joining a US basketball team until the fall semester starts.

Thanks for that!

Point of order, Kaspar is from Lithuania but currently playing in Spain

I will feel much better about the basketball team when Forbes signs a legitimate PG and another center.
Alex Szymczyk would be a low cost add at the center position for Wake. Big kid who can shoot. Sat out this season with foot injury, but flashed great promise when filling in for Colin Castleton when the latter was injured at the end of the 22-23 season. He could have returned at the end of this season, but Todd Golden didn’t want him to burn a year of eligibility. Has 3 year’s eligibility remaining.
