WFU Hoops: '24-'25 Roster Construction Thread: +Spillers/Biliew/Cosby/Johnson/Abass

Has RJ Godfrey committed anywhere yet? wonder if he'll come back to Clemson with Hall gone.

man, was really thinking we would have a little information this week. the lack of news is troubling and does not give me a good feeling with Baba.

I’m all-in on high-risk, high-reward roster building

hold the spots for the Lithuanian kid and Sallis and if we miss so be it
Yeah I agree.. fuck it. If we dont land them, then its the same shit weve been dealing with before, just without that added glimmer of hope that we always give ourselves just to be let down. If we do get them, then were cutting down the fucking nets! ;)

VT brought in a guy, Jordan Ivy-Curry, that just reopened his portal recruitment.

That has been my biggest fear in all of this. You have so many roster spots to fill... If you bring in somebody new and one of your other transfers doesn't like it, they can just leave and look for another place to go. I don't think there is anything that binds them to this new school (aside from the actual school portion of it... registering, etc).
Gross:

My guess is that sallis’s draft stock is going to rise as he does these workouts and team meetings, just like Laravia’s did. Teams are going to see his athleticism and also realize that he is just a good, well-grounded kid.
Stop it.

Please

I remember LaRavia hitting some absurd percentage of NBA threes in his workouts which really helped to boost his perception and draft ranking, since that was probably the biggest question mark about his ceiling as a prospect.

With Hunter I think it's two things - NBA range definitely a question mark, and whether he can leverage his athleticism against physical defenders since he doesn't have elite quickness. I don't think either of those attributes are equal to where LaRavia was when he left. Still kind of a set shot from deep, still needs a little bulk/strength to play the role he'll have in the league.

The problem is he's got so much potential and he's clearly such a good dude and hard worker that I'm betting he'll be just on the right side of the draft to leave, and will get paid decent money to spend a few years developing in the G league. The risk of coming back and either suffering an injury or just not being dominant in the ACC will be too high.
