Wise move on her part. A silly, pointless bill that she can oppose and look less radical right while remaining firm on issues that mean something.
This is correct. In addition to the overall silliness of it, she made a good point that letting a state-level secretary of state make decisions on national political elections is a bad idea. I wager that most people in the US have no idea who they are voting for when they mark their ballot for their state's secstate. Richard Petty ran for secstate in NC not that long ago. You could have a loose cannon in that position really embarrass the state (and cost it a lot of money in legal fees to defend boneheaded and politically motivated actions).
