One of the greatest players and greatest gentlemen baseball ever had has died at 92.

He was my fist baseball hero. My Stan Musial H Web glove lasted forever.

To give you an idea how he was:

3 time MVP
24 time All Star
7 Time batting champ
7 times OPS over 1.000
2nd all time Total Bases

One of the all time good guys too.

RIP Stan

I never really thought about it, but I found this from his obituary to be really interesting: "For much of his career, St. Louis was the most western outpost in the majors.."

I haven't been to the new park in StL. Did they move the statue of Stan the Man over from the old Busch?
indeed they did, its front and center at the new busch

One last thing, he said: "Make it a point to bat .300."

"I consciously memorized the speed at which every pitcher in the league threw his fastball, curve, and slider," he said. "Then, I'd pick up the speed of the ball in the first 30 feet of its flight and knew how it would move once it has crossed the plate."

Pretty badass if you're friends with John Wayne

He was Mickey Mantle's baseball hero ... pretty much says it all right there!

Pretty incredible he was a 24 time All Star during his 22 year career.
