"DURHAM, N.C. — Duke athletic director Kevin White believes the Blue Devils are set up for a big year in all sports in 2013-14.

In an interview with The Associated Press, White called the just-completed academic year an "average year" by the school's notoriously high standards.

He says "we've got a chance to have a heck of a year" because "the stars are aligning in '13-14 for us, across the board, in all 26 sports."

On paper, his optimism certainly seems justified. "

I love this line:
"Long considered one of the Atlantic Coast Conference's lagging programs, the Blue Devils raced out to a 6-2 start and entered November in serious contention for a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game before reaching the Belk Bowl for their first postseason appearance since the 1994 season."

Failed to ended saying they lost every game after that to finish with another losing record on the season. So your program is on the incline or decline when you drop 6 of your last 7?

"Long considered one of the Atlantic Coast Conference's lagging programs, the Deacons raced out to a 5-2 start and entered late October in serious contention for a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game before reaching the Music City Bowl for their first postseason appearance since the 2008 season."

Changed for Wake in 2011.

We were 5 years removed from an ACC title that year. Exactly the same as Duke.

Similar question as the one posed above. Was our program on the incline or decline when we dropped 5 of our last 6?

And being 5 years removed from an ACC title makes it worse.

So...three of the big four are moving up. We are consistently moving down? Can someone remind me again why RW is still employed with Wake?

So he can go on the David Glenn show and spout nonsense about how continuing to book rodeos in the Joel will spur interest in new fans for Wake bball home games.

Did he say that today? SMH. (Don't forget the tractor pulls, giant trucks, gun shows, and my personal favorite, Joyce Meyer the lesbian evangelist.)

Final Directors' Cup standings: UNC 10, Duke 11, NC State 37, Wake 97

Duke is going to be bad bad in football this year
