Google eyeing NFL Sunday ticket; Apple talking to ESPN; Cable TV apocalypse

Saw the google story last night on Flipboard. OFY please.

But if "partnering with cable companies" means we can't break free, then fuck that.
 
How would that work for sports bars. Would they need to by a chrome cast device for every set in the bar?

From what I've read elsewhere, Cable isn't really making a good faith effort to work with Apple, so it seems as though Apple wants to move on without them.
 
I only have Directv for the Ticket and would love to save some cash on the TV front.
