Kathy Hochulk has been declared the winner in NY 26. Last fall, the Dem candidate only got 24%. She got 48%.

The third party candidate only got 8%. But don't think all his votes would have gone to the GOP as he had run as a Dem for the same seat.

In this race the Ryan kill Medicare plan was worth 20+% to the Dem.

I suppose you know all about the candidates past and present in the district to know why the vote was different.

As usual, you are a joke.

This race was really interesting. The third party candidate you reference was actually a democrat who spent his own money to get onto the ballot as an unendorsed Tea Party candidate.

In theory, this should have split Dem votes, but really didn't.

I learned 2 things following this race:

1) The thought that proposed Medicare cuts have traction with voters appears to be true. This could be the dem rallying cry to counter the pub voters rallying against Obamacare last year.

2) Jack Davis is a fraud who deserves every bit of scorn for trying to paint himself as something he's not. He's the lowest form of politician who will claim to be part of whatever side will get him selected. Shameful.

The joke is you. Yes I've folowed this race.

The #1 issue in the ads was the Republican's support for Ryan plan to end Medicare. It was so obvious to Corwin what was happening that she tried to run ads over the lasttwo days saying she wasn't necessarily going to support the Ryan plan.

As usual YOU ARE the joke!

Overblown but shouldn't be overlooked.

Overblown but shouldn't be overlooked.

The people who should be watching are the freshmen who voted for the bill and won their elections in 2010 by less than 5-7%.

350+seats won't change for either side.

The Medicare attack remains a baffling strategy for the GOP to adopt in an election year.

It's not an election year. They've got plenty of time for this issue to die down.

They had to know that everyone who voted for this would be attacked with it next year.

As totally incompetent as the Dems are, even they would have trouble screwing this one up.

It's a budget issue every year, not to mention that they can't pass anything now, so the threat will remain fresh for next year. It's just bad strategy.

The exit polling is spelling out that the Ryan budget is a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This is what happens when you try to pass a long term practical budget in this country.

Sometimes I wish that old people would just die at 75. We're all fucked.

Obama has been so centrist in his first 2.5 years the Pubs have had nothing but the deficit/debt to try and paint him as a monster with, and they ended up painting themselves as one, it appears.

If they ever needed a BJ on the Oval Office to curry favor for their side it was now. Oh well.

The New York race was clearly a referendum on medicare and the "Ryan Budget Plan". And a very conservative district didn't like the Republican message on medicare!

Democrats, we've found our issue!
