Anyone else pissed off about the new kickoff rules in the No Fun League?

Meh. Only change is moving the kickoff to the 35 yd line as it was before 1993. A few more touchbacks won't hurt the game, IMO.

Why on Earth did the competition committee want to get rid of the third challenge when the first two are successful? That's bullshit. IF the refs keep screwing your team, you should be able to contest those calls. I'm glad that didn't pass.

Not pissed off about it, but I don't like it and wished they didn't do it.

As much as the kickoff rules will favor my team, panthers, since we don't have a return game, a big kick return really electrifies the crowd. If the NFL really wants to get people to stay home and watch redzone, they did a great job. If they actually end up playing this year

They really need returns to get people to stick around during that these 5-6 breaks in the action: FG/TD, commercial, kickoff, commercial, 1st and 10.

TMQ proclaims that defenses love touchbacks. The field position generally leads to more stops, and thus lower points against.

Before, only elite kick off specialists could regularly notch touchbacks and were an asset to their team. Because of the rule change, this skillset is much more abundant and the demand is much lower. Now the kickoff playing field is more level for kickers, which sucks for the teams that had the top-level kickoff specialists - they'll still get their touchbacks, but so will a new handful of teams/kickers.

I think it's a dumb change because it isn't fair in this way. Furthermore, it may make the game less exciting (less opportunities for sweet kick returns) and lower scoring.

This is so dumb.

I like Hester's comments about how they'll need to install Arena League nets for all the kickoffs sailing into the stands.

Fox, NBC, and CBS must be salivating over the low scoring games... Can you say ratings boost?!?!?

Do you think the owners may have wanted this rule change so they won't need to carry a kickoff specialist on the roster? Sounds very cheap, but it's something to think about.
