Whatever the intentions are, sure they would appreciate as many fans take this as possible.

1400 dollars to go to Shreveport, that is batshit crazy. There are millions of vacations and vacation packages you could go to for a week at that price, with the biggest selling point they are fucking Shreveport the day after Christmas

That may have been true in 1948. But somewhere before the time disco became popular, Shreveport has stood still.

I do have good memories of our Independence Bowl in Shreveport/Bozier City in 1992, even if it did cost me a trip to London.

Iirc, we got a per diem in the band that I actually made a profit on, because everything there is so dirt cheap. Plus there is a liquor store every 50 feet.

Yeah the band profit is awesome, when we went to FSU three years ago for football we got 75 bucks for a day and a half trip. I think I spent like 20 of it on food and then had 55 bucks. I almost felt bad about it.

I still remember Cumberland's exact reaction "well that right there is not smart"

Shreveport isn't the end of the world-cheap hotels, bars are inexpensive, everything is open until 6AM, and 5 casinos that aren't some half-assed Indian reservation crap (although 2 of them are pretty trashy in terms of clientele.
Getting there does suck, though. One of the more expensive smaller regional airports around, but flying to Dallas, Jackson, or Alexandria cheaper and driving in is just as big a pain in the ass.
