Certainly is a step up from counting teeth, comparing double-wides, and poisoning trees.

Human error at 1am? What, do they run the online site from India?

BATON ROUGE - TeamFanShop, LSU Athletics' official e-commerce partner, issued the following statement after images of Alabama merchandise mistakenly appeared on www.LSUshop.net during overnight hours on Monday.

TeamFanShop, which provides the official online stores for both LSU and Alabama, operates more than 250 e-commerce websites and 60 stores for collegiate and professional sports partners and media organizations.

"Early this morning, LSU fans may have noticed that part of LSU's official online store mistakenly displayed the Alabama Crimson Tide online store," stated Brian Swallow, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for TeamFanShop.

"This was the result of human error by a designer and was not the result of a hack by any outside party. At no time was customer information compromised. This error has since been fixed and the LSU Athletics official online store, www.LSUshop.net, is now being displayed properly. We apologize for the inconvenience, appreciate your patience, and look forward to the BCS Championship Game on January 9."

TeamFanShop runs the DeaconShop.com as well. Don't think it couldn't happen to us! lol

Darren Rovelle says human error, not hacking

That seemed kind of obvious to me. The online shop isn't run by people in Baton Rouge, it's probably run by some central company who does it for like 1000 different schools. The championship game matchup gets announced, they scramble to put something up... put up a bunch of shirts with LSU - Alabama on it... and then mistakenly feature Alabama gear instead of LSU gear.

Stupid. Completely. But hacking? Not a chance. If the site was hacked there are about 999,999,999,999,999 better things they could have done.

There was a period of time when clicking on the banner on the DeaconShop would take you to the Butler site. Not kidding.
