One thing......
Bill Dooley. He played and coached the OL @ MSU getting his coaching career started. He went on to successful head coaching positions @ UNC, VT, and lastly at Wake where he ended his career. Led us to an upset and great comeback win over PAC10 Oregon in the Independence Bowl. Grobe also led the Deacs over Oregon in the 2002 Seattle Bowl.
Dooley can really be credited with raising the bar for WF football. While Mackovic probably had our best season between the 1970 & 2006 championship seasons, Dooley really built a program IMO. I
