BREAKING: Pac-12 and Big Ten enter scheduling agreement. All 12 teams playing an interleague football game starting 2017.
Great idea. Love seeing this instead of the usual FCS or Sun Belt early-season opponents (with a few exceptions, obviously).

Wonder if the ACC could swing this with somebody?

How is it going to be set up in terms of scheduling?

Assuming the two leagues keep an open weekend early in the season and all games are played at that time.

Do games get scheduled years in advance? Or is it based upon how the teams finished the previous season?

A fantastic idea would be to do a lottery where teams were drawn randomly on a made for TV selection show the prior spring.

We basically do this with the SEC.

Great idea and a good way to bring back Colorado vs. Nebraska.

I would love to see it done like the ACC Big Ten Challenge.

OSU/USC to start the season? Yes, please.

Michigan/Oregon, Wisconsin/Stanford, UCLA/Nebraska, etc. It would be a lot of fun and make the early season a lot more exciting.

Pretty good idea.

Does either conference do 9 game conference schedules though? If so that means 10 games against legit opponents plus any other rivalries (ie: Notre Dame for Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue; Iowa State for Iowa; etc).

Wonder how long it will be before 13 game schedules are introduced.

You also have to think this ramp up the pressure on ND to join a conference. There simply won't be many slots available.

Might be an ulterior motive for the Big Ten. If those 3 won't schedule ND anymore then ND is in trouble. ND also always plays USC, and I think Stanford too.

Pac-10 does 9 game conference schedules. Big Ten was expected to start doing them in 4-5 years, but is now backing off that stance in light of today's announcement.
