Details are still sketchy, but it appears that Stephanie Smith, the sister of former Nugget, JR’s Smith allegedly choked a woman and shoved an 80-year old man during Smith’s game. Jr’s team, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls,were playing against the Bayi Rockets. JR was fouled but didn’t get the call, his sister allegedly became upset and threw a bottle on the court.

From there, things are unclear but photos show his sister in some sort of altercation with a woman in the stands. Keep in mind, the team that was playing is the same team that had a brawl last summer with the Georgetown basketball team. (That could just be an interesting coincidence or a factor)

A few upset Bayi fans also interfered with Smith’s team ability to depart following the incident, demanding an apology from the Smith family.

how embarrassing. Do people ever do research before they travel to a foreign country? Do they feel the need to represent themselves as individuals or as Americans? Maybe she'll learn if they throw her in a Chinese gulag.

Let's make her US ambassador to China. She really understands relations with them.
 
Bayi is the same team that brawled with Georgetown this summer. That seems to be the root cause of the problem.
 
She's lucky she doesn't wind up in a Chinese prison acting out like that. Damn. That's quite a choke hold she's got on that lady.
 
And it looks like the lady behind them is cheering them on not breaking it up.
 
The victim apparently tried to take her last piece of dim sum.
 
WTF is JR Smith doing in China? Is his career really going that poorly or is this lockout related?

Correct. These are the same fans that attacked the Georgetown fans and players. They're probably the Philly fans of China. :D
