Good read. Brought back a lot of memories. It might be a sad statement, but for guys my age (who played any level of organized football) it was better back then. Coaches were brutal, the other team was brutal, refs were brutal, even your own teammates could be brutal in practice. If one had any anger issues, one was certainly rewarded for working them out on the field.

There were two Deacons on that Pittsburg team.

Ed Bradley and Jim Clack (RIP).
